April Box
Theme: Addiction
“The wound is the place where the light enters you.” Rumi

MEANING OF YOUR MINIATURES:
Pills in the pill bottle – These empty pill capsules in the pill bottle can represent healing or heartache
Syringe – Again, the source of healing or self-harm
Marijuana leaf – Put this out in your collection, even with children. They will use it as foliage or as an important symbol in their lives
THC test – this is a real THC test. Take it out of the package and glue or tape it closed. You’ll be surprised what this is used to represent.
Poker chips – May represent gambling itself or taking the chance on an idea
Scratch offs – Representing the hope of something big or an addiction to wishful thinking
Roulette wheel – Often used in casinos
Fake money – Addictions need money to be fueled – or money can be an addiction in and of itself.
Champagne bottle – Celebration or something more?
Pipe – A powerful symbol of drug use
Flask – Sometimes drinking is done in private or in small amounts but it does have an impact
Vodka bottle – Representation of hard liquor
Cigarettes – A staple of any miniature set
AA token – Provided to those who complete a day or more of sobriety
AA serenity prayer – Designed by the Southern Sandtray team to be placed in your miniature collection – this can be important for those struggling with addiction – if you play to use it often, laminate for longer lasting use
Self-care item – We’ve given you a ‘handmade, seeded note card’ that can be written on and then planted.
*Your instructions for the note cards*
-Carefully remove the paper from the plastic sleeve
-Use a ballpoint pen to avoid ink bleeding through the paper
-Write down on the card “seeds” or words of affirmation and qualities that you see in yourself
-Plant paper in a pot or garden and watch it grow. As you witness these seeds grow into beautiful flowers, remember those words of affirmation and allow those to serve as a reminder of your value and worth.
